Job Role: Senior Oracle Database Administrator (Oracle DBA)
Washington, DC - Remote with occasional on-site presence
Duration: 12 months

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator to manage enterprise Oracle environments supporting mission-critical systems. The role includes installation, configuration, patching, and performance optimization of Oracle databases, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.

Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain Oracle Databases (11g / 12c / 19c or later) across production, test, and development environments.
Perform backup/recovery, RMAN configuration, and Data Guard setup for high availability.
Conduct performance monitoring and tuning using Oracle Enterprise Manager and related tools.
Support database design, schema updates, and assist teams in creating and managing databases.
Troubleshoot database and application integration issues across multiple systems.
Handle change and incident requests through established ITSM processes.
Collaborate with SQL DBAs and system administrators to maintain cross-platform interoperability.
Manage and respond to Requests for Changes (RFCs) and incident tickets using FootPrints and ITIL-based processes.
Provide limited support for PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MySQL, and MS Access environments.
Participate in after-hours patching and maintenance as required.
Ensure secure operations using approved equipment and remote authentication tools in compliance with organizational IT security policies.

Required Qualifications:
8+ years of experience administering Oracle Databases in enterprise-scale environments.
Expertise in RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, and database recovery techniques.
Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
Experience with PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MySQL, and MS Access databases.
Strong understanding of database security, patching, and user access management.
Effective communicator capable of coordinating with both technical and management stakeholders.
