Position: Sr. Android Developer Duration: 6+ Months (Contract) Location: ONSITE – Plano, TX 75024 Pay Rate: $84.00 per hour (W2 Only) This role is 100% ON SITE (LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY). Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain mobile applications for the Android platform. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define, design and ship new features. Write clean, maintainable and efficient code following best practices and coding standards. Participate in the entire application lifecycle – concept, design, development, testing, release and maintenance. Debug and resolve technical issues and bugs to ensure optimal application performance. Perform unit testing and ensure the robustness, reliability and performance of applications. Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge with the team. Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies. Implement mobile development best practices to ensure high code quality and performance. Adhere to security and data protection guidelines for mobile applications. Required Skills / Experience 8+ years of native mobile app development experience. Extensive experience programming in Kotlin, Java and Jetpack Compose. Strong experience building and maintaining Android libraries via Gradle/Maven. Working knowledge of unit and Android tests; automated testing using Espresso UI Automation. Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, JSON and integrating third‑party libraries. Knowledge of version control systems (Git, GitLab). Understanding of Agile methodologies and CI/CD practices. Solid understanding of mobile app design patterns (MVC, MVP, Delegation, Singleton, Factory, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Viper, etc.). Strong experience collaborating with designers and UX experts. Familiarity with tools such as Jenkins, Fastlane, Bitrise or similar for CI/CD. Candidate will need to take a technical test in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose and Android development. Desired Skills Understanding of CI/CD principles. Good understanding of UI/UX design principles and ability to work closely with designers. Knowledge of UI best practices, interactive design principles, guidelines and current mobile accessibility standards. Preferred familiarity with Bluetooth, BT Profiles, Digital Key, Core Bluetooth, External accessory, OAuth 2.0 and iAP2. Ability to work on Agile and Test‑driven development. Experience working remotely and collaborating with a remote team. Strong communicator who collaborates well across teams. Familiar with Google Play policies for app submission. Experience building Android modules, SDKs, framework is a plus.
